How To Tell If You Burned A Cake

Thanx ladies.

Well I figured out what happened. I bake from scratch then sometimes we effort to make "mixes" upward before hand. Well my eldest dd was was helping me and I think she goofed on 1 of them! Arrrggghhh!!!

So that was the batter for the half-dozen", the eight" and one-half of the 10"!!!! The batter for the 12" was fine and I made a minor dinosaur smash block besides.

Nosotros tossed the burnt cakes and the one in the 12" turned out perfect and the dinosaur block.

We decided to peak it and fill it with cherry's. MMMMM....

Trying to cut information technology evenly is a hurting though.

Wilton "party" slices say it will serve twenty people. So I told my dh to cutting it into four. And then each triangle cut 2 in the tiptop, and iii on the bottom. LOL

Anyhow it didn't turn out too bad with the cutting but some pieces are bigger than the others and the pieces toward the meridian fall apart more merely all in all it is 1 delicious cake.

The cake recipe has where you add carbohydrate with the flour and other dry ingredients and we didn't realize the sugar was already added and shaken upwards in it. So I call back the beginning batch had way too much sugar!

Yeah thank goodness information technology wasn't for a customer! Just I really wanted to exercise my stacked princess block. Oh well, maybe next weekend. icon_biggrin.gif

Thanx. When y'all measure practise you use a dry measuring cup or a liquid? I tried dry earlier and ended up with some batter left over so this time nosotros used the liquid. I call up I will try it ane more time like wilton says because I call back I goofed on the concoction for the first ii.5 cakes.

We likewise used bake even oven strips and some make shift ones. The 12" came out perfect. It rose to the top and Joe didn't even have to level it. He said he could of only it would of been simply a tiny bit.

I think I am going to buy a scale side by side weekend and if that amount of batter works next time, I am simply going to write down how much information technology weighs and do it that way from her on out. Trying to measure it is such a pain.

Yes it was the overflow simply unfortunately with me messing upwards the recipe, the cakes also took extremely long to bake and when they came out they did taste really good but they looked goofy. They looked like they would collapse if I tried to decorate. Probably had iii cups too much sugar in that concoction. Yikes! lol
